The Åcahand Foundation awards grants to qualified 501(c)(3) organizations primarily in the Inter-mountain West region of the United states and international organizations based in (or working with) Melanesian countries of the South Pacific who are primarily engaged in the Foundation’s Areas of Focus: Education and Learning, Health and Welfare, and innovative Community Change.

Our current international focus includes the Melanesian countries of Papua New Guinea and Fiji. International organizations must also demonstrate a commitment to implementing the United Nation’s 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and one or more of the related 17 Sustainable Development Goals.

All applications are by invitation only, and our annual granting shifts to reflect out mission and the critical needs of communities we serve. Each year, our team identifies programs and initiatives that align with our strategic priorities. We then contact specific organizations to request a letter of inquiry, meeting or grant proposal.
